ESMA grants Halal Mark to three food producers


​​DUBAI, 9th May, 2015 (WAM)--The national brand for Halal, which comes within the UAE system for the control of Halal products, is gaining increasing momentum among local, regional and international companies, Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, and Chairman of the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA), has affirmed. He noted that companies have developed more awareness about the importance of obtaining the prestigious Halal National Mark accreditation to market their products in local and foreign markets. The minister made his remarks during a ceremony held to award Halal certificates to three new recipients: Emirates Modern Poultry Company, Al Khaleej Sugar Company and Aujan Group's beverage business, Rani Refreshments (RR), after their products met the requirements set by the Emirati control system for halal products. He added that the latest awards brought to 14 the number of companies that have received the Halal National Mark, adding that ESMA has received many applications from companies wishing to obtain the certificate.
